Iru–Victoria Island LCDA Chair has partnered Arewa Group to endorse President Tinubu for Renewed Hope Agenda re-election.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Executive Chairman of Iru–Victoria Island Local Council Development Area, Hon. Aminat Oluwakemi Alabi, has commended the Arewa community for what she described as consistent support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and its “Renewed Hope” economic agenda.
Hon. Alabi made the remarks on Thursday, April 23, 2026, during the official visit of the Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027 to the council secretariat in Lagos, where she was formally unveiled as a partner of the pro-Tinubu mobilisation structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The engagement also marked a mutual endorsement, as the council chairman reaffirmed her alignment with the group’s advocacy efforts and pledged cooperation towards the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the movement, Alhaji Shehu Usman Sampam, said the group had recorded significant progress in sensitisation campaigns across the Southwest, particularly within Arewa communities.
He noted that the movement was intensifying grassroots mobilisation efforts with a stated goal of delivering “one million votes” from Arewa residents across the region in support of the president’s second-term ambition.
“We are determined to mobilise a million votes from the Arewa community across the Southwest in support of Asiwaju’s re-election,” Sampam said.
The group also expressed appreciation to the council leadership for the appointment of an Arewa indigene and member of the movement, Babagana Pulka, as a supervisory councillor in the LCDA.
According to Alhaji Sampam, the appointment reflects a culture of inclusion, which he attributed to political practices established during President Tinubu’s tenure as governor of Lagos State and now continued at the federal level.
