Aregbesola has slammed APC and labelled ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ a scam and urged President Tinubu to resign.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has launched a strong criticism of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration, describing its Renewed Hope Agenda as a “scam” and calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign.
Speaking at the ADC National Convention in Abuja on Tuesday, the former Minister of Interior blamed the current administration for worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity across the country.
Aregbesola accused the government of failing to deliver on its key promises, noting that the naira has depreciated significantly since 2023 while fuel prices have surged, placing increased pressure on Nigerians.

“When exactly will this hope come to fruition? The answer is simple—it is a scam,” he said, adding that Nigerians must resist what he described as continued political deception.
The former Osun State governor also criticised the state of electricity supply, claiming that many communities now receive only a few hours of power daily, with some experiencing prolonged blackouts.
On the issue of governance, Aregbesola alleged that the current administration has weakened democratic processes and normalised irregularities within the electoral system.
He further condemned the rising wave of insecurity across the country, describing it as a clear sign of leadership failure.
According to him, the administration had promised improved power supply but has fallen short, with many areas reportedly receiving as little as two hours of electricity daily.
Aregbesola also raised concerns about increasing poverty levels and the growing number of out-of-school children, warning that the country is drifting in the wrong direction.
Positioning the ADC as a viable alternative, he said the party is on a mission to “rescue” Nigeria and restore effective leadership.
He urged Nigerians to support the party, stressing that remaining neutral in the current political climate could worsen the situation.
“We cannot allow this continued drift into hopelessness,” Aregbesola said.
