Dele Momodu has backed Atiku-Obi Presidential Ticket and said that ADC alliance could challenge APC.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that media entrepreneur Dele Momodu has said a joint presidential ticket featuring Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi would be a formidable option for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of future elections.

Momodu made the remark on Tuesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, noting that both politicians had previously worked together and share political compatibility.

“I’d pair him (Atiku) with Peter Obi because they worked together in 2019, so they already share a similar temperament,” he said.

He added that Obi’s strong showing in the last presidential election makes the proposed ticket even more strategic.

“Peter Obi came third in the last election, so you don’t have to work too hard to maintain and attract the same group of people who support him,” Momodu stated.

The media mogul also suggested that the growing presence of prominent opposition figures within the ADC is causing unease within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the possibility of multiple opposition leaders aligning under one platform poses a significant political challenge to the ruling party.

“They cannot believe that we will have maybe four or five major opposition leaders in one place,” he said, alleging that efforts may be made to weaken such an alliance.

Momodu further claimed that despite the political strength of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the backing of key political officeholders, there are visible signs of concern within the APC over the evolving opposition dynamics.

His comments come amid ongoing political realignments as parties and stakeholders position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
