Why I Practice Both Islam and Christianity – Nasboi

Nigerian skit maker and singer Nasboi opens up about his unique faith journey, revealing how he embraces both religions and the spiritual balance they bring to his life.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Skitmaker and musician Lawal Nasiru, popularly known as Nasboi, has revealed that he identifies as both a Muslim and a Christian.

He explained that his upbringing — with a Yoruba Muslim father and a Christian mother from Warri — shaped his open-minded approach to religion and made it impossible for him to be a fanatic.

Nasboi added that growing up in Port Harcourt and later studying in Uyo further influenced his neutrality toward both religious and ethnic differences.

“My papa Yoruba, my mama Warri. My papa Muslim, my mama Christian.

I was born and raised in Port Harcourt. I studied at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom. This is why I can never relate to tribalism or all the religious agendas,” Nasboi wrote on his X page.

When asked by a fan to clarify his religion, the comedian responded that he identifies as both.

“I am Christmus [both Christian and Muslim],” he replied.

His statement stirred mixed reactions online, with some social media users praising his openness while others accused him of being “confused.”
