Atiku has revealed how he saved Obasanjo from alleged death plot in prison.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has claimed that he saved former President Olusegun Obasanjo from an alleged plot to kill him while he was in prison.

Atiku made the claim during an interview with journalists, alleging that he leaked information about a planned injection that could have resulted in Obasanjo’s death.

According to the former vice-president, a similar method was allegedly used against the late Major-General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.

“I saved Obasanjo’s life in prison by leaking information about an impending injection that could have killed him,” Atiku said.

“They did the same to Yar’Adua, and when I learnt they planned to do it to him, I warned him not to allow the injection.”

Atiku further alleged that his present disagreement with Obasanjo arose from his opposition to the former president’s purported third-term ambition.

“Today, he wants the world to hate me because I opposed his third-term ambition,” he added.

Atiku served as Nigeria’s vice-president under Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.

Obasanjo has yet to respond to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
