Hamzat has presented Lagos APC Governorship Primary Results to Tinubu after emerging 2027 candidate.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has formally presented the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election to President Bola Tinubu following his emergence as the party’s candidate for the 2027 Lagos governorship election.
The development was disclosed on Saturday through a statement shared on Hamzat’s official X handle after a visit to the President.
Hamzat, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, met with President Tinubu shortly after being declared winner of the APC governorship primary conducted across Lagos State.

The visit is seen as a major political step as the ruling APC intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Although details of the closed-door meeting were not made public, the engagement is believed to be part of ongoing consultations within the party following the completion of the Lagos APC primaries.
Speaking after the visit, Hamzat expressed appreciation to APC members and supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
“My wife, Oluremi, and I visited His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to present the official results of the Lagos APC gubernatorial primary,” Hamzat stated.
He described his emergence as the APC governorship candidate as both a privilege and a responsibility, pledging to sustain development and inclusive growth across Lagos State.
“I remain deeply grateful for the trust placed in me. Securing the party’s nomination for the 2027 governorship election is both an honour and a profound responsibility,” he said.
Hamzat further assured Lagos residents that his administration’s vision would focus on improving opportunities for families, businesses, and young people across the state.
“We are working every single day to ensure that our state remains a place where every family can thrive, every business can grow, and every young person can find real opportunities,” he added.
The deputy governor also thanked supporters for their continued loyalty and confidence in his leadership vision.
“The energy and trust you have placed in this vision mean everything to us. The journey ahead is about turning that shared hope into meaningful progress for everyone,” Hamzat stated.
