Fidelity Bank Plc Donates Food, Essentials to Enugu Custodial Centre to Support Inmates’ Welfare

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to social impact with the donation of food items and essential supplies to inmates at the Enugu Maximum Security Custodial Centre.

 

The outreach was led by the bank’s newly inducted Legacy Class of 2026 under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the Fidelity Helping Hands Project (FHHP), which empowers employees to identify and address pressing community needs.

Items donated during the visit included staple food supplies such as garri, noodles, spaghetti, milk, and biscuits, aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of over 3,000 inmates at the facility.

 

Speaking during the exercise, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Meksley Nwagboh, described the initiative as part of the bank’s culture of promoting compassion and responsibility among its workforce.

 

He noted that the project was designed to enable staff contribute meaningfully to society, adding that the donation would help ease some of the challenges faced in catering to inmates.

 

Responding, Deputy Controller of Corrections, Sunday Igwe, commended the bank for its timely intervention, stating that the support would positively impact the facility’s operations.

 

He also urged Nigerians, particularly young professionals, to avoid criminal activities and make responsible life choices.

 

The Fidelity Helping Hands Project remains one of the bank’s flagship CSR platforms, driving employee-led initiatives that support inclusive development and community welfare across Nigeria.
