Tinubu has secured landslide victory in APC Presidential Primary in Lagos Ward.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded a sweeping victory on Saturday in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held at Ward L2 in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, polling 4,996 votes.

The direct primary exercise took place at Ireti Nursery and Primary School, Mekwen Street, off Queens Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, amid heavy security presence and massive turnout of party members and supporters.

The APC presidential ticket for the 2027 general election was contested between the incumbent President Tinubu and businessman Sterlyn Osifo, with party members participating in the direct primary process to determine the party’s flagbearer.

Voting commenced early in the day following voter accreditation, as party faithful gathered in large numbers to show support for the President and the ruling party.

Several prominent APC leaders monitored the exercise, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former Minister of Finance Wale Edun, APC Lagos State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and party chieftain Kola Peregrino.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived at the polling centre at about 11:35 a.m., shortly after the completion of accreditation.

Speaking before voting commenced, APC Lagos State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

“The rewards of your loyalty to the party will yield proceeds in due course. Thank you for the wonderful support for our President and the APC,” he said.

He further urged party members to remain committed to the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.

“At the end of today, Nigerians will know that APC remains the strongest political party in the country,” he added.

Announcing the final results, the ward returning officer, Martha Adikwu, disclosed that Tinubu secured 4,996 votes out of the 5,163 accredited voters in the ward, confirming a decisive victory for the President in the primary poll.

The outcome further strengthens Tinubu’s position ahead of the APC presidential nomination process for the 2027 general election.
