Mascot Uzor Kalu explained that one of the key factors influencing his withdrawal was the emergence of his brother, Orji Uzor Kalu, as the party’s senatorial candidate.
He noted that stepping down from the governorship contest would create an opportunity for other aspirants interested in flying the APC governorship flag in Abia State.
The former aspirant stressed that his decision was taken in the interest of party harmony and political stability ahead of the 2027 elections.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and success of the APC in Abia State, urging party members and supporters to remain united and focused on securing victory in the next general elections.
The development comes as political activities continue to intensify across Abia State ahead of the APC primaries and the 2027 governorship election.
