Yakubu Gowon also acknowledged the challenge of the country since independence and affirmed that the judiciary plays a vital role in keeping Nigeria united as a nation.

During the event, Gen Gowon paid tribute to the late Justice Chike Idigbe, whom he described as a dedicated jurist who was brave in dispensing justice.

Yakubu Gowon Gowon extolled Idigbe’s unwavering commitment to upholding justice and the rule of law, which he believed was a testament to his unflinching character and his belief in Nigeria.
