President Tinubu has appointed Jonah Jang’s Son, Yakubu Jang, as Senior Special Assistant.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has appointed Yakubu Jang, son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, as a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) in the Office of the President.
The announcement was made on Saturday in Jos, Plateau State, during the 80th birthday celebration and autobiography launch of the former governor.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented President Tinubu at the event, disclosed the appointment while delivering the President’s goodwill message.

According to Shettima, the appointment reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to bringing competent individuals into government while ensuring broad representation in national leadership.
The announcement was met with applause from guests at the event, which was held at the Tamarald Event Centre in Jos.
The ceremony attracted an array of prominent personalities, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, serving and former state governors, federal and state government officials, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries.
Yakubu Jang’s appointment came as political leaders gathered to celebrate the former Plateau governor’s 80th birthday and honour his decades of service to the nation.
Jonah Jang has had a distinguished career in public service, serving in the Nigerian Air Force before becoming a military administrator. He later served two terms as Governor of Plateau State and subsequently represented the state in the Senate.
As part of the celebration, the elder statesman also unveiled his autobiography, Airman to Politics: My Life, which chronicles his journey from military service to political leadership in Nigeria.
