Wike has warned that further attack on G-5 Governors will attract the wrath of the Integrity Group as they will not hesitate to strike back.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike on Monday asked Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should call to order members of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, of the party and caution them to refrain from attacking the aggrieved PDP governors, popularly called G5.

Newsonline reports that Wike stated that the G5 governors are lovers of peace who are ready to work for the PDP’s victory in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Wike issued the warning on Monday at the flag-off of the Indorama-Agbonchia-Ogale-Ebubu-East/West Link Road in Eleme Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

He said it is ludicrous for persons who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and abandoned the PDP at its trying moment, to dictate to him and his associates of what to do in the party.

The former governor of Ondo State, Segun Mimiko, performed the flag-off.

Wike said “Now, what I want to tell the presidential candidate of PDP is we need peace”.

“We want all of us to be together for the party to win election. But let me say clearly, if your boys continue to attack the G-5 (governors), continue to attack the leaders of our party, we will strike back.

“If anybody again dares in the PDP Presidential Campaign Council to insult the PDP governors G-5, insult our leaders of Integrity Group, we’ll fight back.

“Even if anybody will talk about us not these miscreants. Enough is enough.”

This online news platform recalls that the G-5 governors, including Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, had been receiving attacks following their stance for “equity, justice and fairness” in the party as they insisted on the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to pave the way for a southerner to entrench balance in the party.
