No Peace In PDP Until Ayu Resigns, Atiku Didn’t Implement Our Agreement- Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said there will be no peace in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu resigns from his position.

Newsonline reports that Wike also alleged that the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, failed to implement the agreement they had after their London meeting earlier in the week.

Governor Wike said, unlike Atiku and Ayu he has made so many concessions for the party by maintaining his position that he will not leave the PDP.

The Rivers state governor who has been in the news since the beginning of the week with the appointment of over 50,000 political advisers made this known in Portharcourt on Friday (today) while speaking in a media chat.

Wike said “They  (Atiku and Ayu) are denying my people their own right. This has nothing to do with Northern domination. Zone the chairmanship to anywhere in the South, not necessarily Rivers State.”

He added that he and his team which included Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Samuel Ortom of Benue State will not back down rom their demand that Ayu must resign.

“We are not going to back down. Some of them are hypocrites that want to eat the crumbs from the master’s table. There is no single law in the PDP that allows these two positions to come from the same zone.

“Live and let me live. Take and let me take. If the President comes from the North, let the National Chairman come from the South. What is wrong with that?” Wike said.

He further stated, “That I said I am not leaving the PDP is enough concession. What concession have they made?”

“He (Atiku) met me one-on-one but has he implemented the agreement? If I leave the PDP today, the party cannot win Rivers State.

“Nobody can toy with us. If the five governors say we are leaving the party today, do you know what that means?”

Wike further boasted, “Forget about all these things happening now. We are not just ordinary governors. We are formidable governors. If you want to win the election, why not do the right thing?”
