NNPC has cut petrol price to N1,295/litre after Dangote Refinery slashed gantry rate.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that retail outlets operated by NNPC Limited have reduced petrol pump prices following a recent gantry price cut by Dangote Refinery.

Checks in Abuja on Monday showed that NNPC retail stations adjusted their petrol price to N1,295 per litre, down from N1,361 representing a N71 reduction.

The price cut comes just days after Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry price by N85, from N1,285 to N1,200 per litre, signaling a shift in the downstream pricing landscape.

However, the price adjustment has not yet been widely adopted across the market. MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, which has ties to Dangote, is yet to revise its pump price, still selling petrol at N1,367 per litre as of the time of reporting.

Similarly, other major marketers including Ranoil Nigeria Limited, Empire Energy, Emedab Energy Services Limited, and TotalEnergies continue to dispense fuel at higher rates ranging between N1,370 and N1,395 per litre.

The development highlights a growing divergence in retail fuel pricing, as operators respond at different speeds to changes in wholesale supply costs.
