Heirs Holdings has appointed Obinna Ufudo and Sola Yomi-Ajayi as Non-Executive Directors.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a leading pan-African investment company, Heirs Holdings, has announced the appointment of Obinna Ufudo and Sola Yomi-Ajayi as Non-Executive Directors, strengthening its board with deep expertise in finance, energy, governance and global markets.

 

The company said the appointments underscore its commitment to strong corporate governance and strategic leadership as it continues to expand its pan-African investment footprint.

Sola Yomi-Ajayi brings over three decades of experience in financial services, regulatory engagement, governance and enterprise risk management. She previously served as an Executive Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA), where she was also Chief Executive Officer for UBA’s International Business and Country CEO for UBA America.

 

Yomi-Ajayi currently sits on the boards of UBA United Kingdom, the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), and is a member of the OECD Blue Dot Network Executive Consultation Group. Her past roles include membership of the Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee of the US Export-Import Bank and the Board of Trustees of the Institute of International Banking in the United States.

 

She holds a Master of Business Administration from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK) as well as a member of the Association of MBAs. Her professional training also includes a Corporate Governance Certificate from Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Leadership Certificate from Harvard Business School.

 

Obinna Ufudo also brings more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning banking, investment, energy and corporate transformation. He previously served as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at Heirs Holdings, and as President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp).

 

At Transcorp, Ufudo led a major turnaround and oversaw the landmark acquisition of the Ughelli Power Plant. He is the Founder and Chairman of Atiat Leasing Limited and Co-Founder and Chairman of LoanBook Limited.

 

Ufudo holds advanced executive and postgraduate qualifications from the Wharton School (Advanced Management Program), the University of Reading (MSc, Chevening Scholar), and IESE Business School (Executive MBA). He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

 

Commenting on the appointments, Founder and Group Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, said the company was pleased to welcome the new board members, describing them as role models for Africapitalism.

 

“Both Obinna and Sola bring depth of experience and proven track records that will further strengthen our leadership in pan-African proprietary investment and support the development of our portfolio companies,” Elumelu said.
