EPL: Carragher Blames Liverpool Star For 2-1 Defeat To Man United

Carragher noted that the Netherlands international was not aggressive enough in his defensive duties.

He went further to recall that during the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid back in May, the Netherlands captain was just hanging his leg out as he watched the ball being headed into his net.

“A defender who’s always on the floor, that’s not a good sign,” the Liverpool legend warned, also recalling how he gave the penalty away at Fulham as well.

“You can’t just stand there, he almost made himself smaller by the way he stood.”
