Davido, Victony,  and Timaya among others have demanded the rescue of abducted Oyo schoolchildren and urged Tinubu to end insecurity.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Nigerian music stars Davido, Victony, and Timaya have joined growing calls for the rescue of dozens of pupils, students, and teachers abducted by gunmen from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The victims were kidnapped on May 15, 2026, from Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota), Community Grammar School, and L.A Primary School (Esiele).

According to reports, 39 students and seven teachers were abducted during the attack, while two teachers were killed, triggering widespread outrage across the country.

Reacting to the incident, singer Victony called on President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against insecurity and ensure the safe return of all kidnap victims, particularly children.

In a post on X, he wrote: “Save our children & put an end to this mess @officialABAT.”

Davido also expressed deep concern over the plight of the victims and their families, describing the situation as heartbreaking and unacceptable.

Reacting via his Snapchat page, the singer said: “I’m weak. God pls take control. We can’t continue like this… my heart goes out to the victims and family .. this is messed up.”

Similarly, Timaya urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts to address the country’s worsening security challenges and secure the release of those still in captivity.

“We appeal to the Government for even greater urgency, collaboration, and action in addressing the growing security challenges facing many parts of our country,” the singer said in a statement.

The abduction has continued to draw reactions from Nigerians, with many demanding swift intervention from security agencies and the government to secure the release of the victims.
