Police Service Commission has denied releasing recruitment shortlist and warned applicants against fake list.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed a purported police recruitment shortlist circulating on social media, describing it as fake and misleading.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the Commission, Torty Njoku Kalu, said the PSC had not released any shortlist of candidates for medical examinations as being claimed online.
“The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination,” the statement read.

The Commission clarified that the evaluation of the recently conducted written examination is still in its final stages and that no list of successful candidates has been published.
According to the PSC, applicants who qualify for the next stage of the recruitment exercise will receive official invitations for medical examinations through designated channels in the coming days.
The Commission stated that notifications would be sent via email, SMS, the official recruitment portal, and other verified communication platforms.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and merit-based recruitment, the PSC stressed that the integrity of the Nigeria Police Force depends on the quality and credibility of personnel recruited into the system.
The Commission also warned applicants and members of the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters spreading false information about the recruitment process.
It emphasized that all official updates regarding the ongoing police recruitment exercise would be communicated exclusively through its verified channels.
