Suspended Senator Natasha has vowed to storm the Senate on Tuesday.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared her imminent return to the Senate following a landmark Federal High Court ruling that nullified her suspension.

In a video now circulating widely on social media, the embattled lawmaker addressed cheering supporters, saying: “I thank you for your support. I am glad we are victorious today. We shall resume in the Senate on Tuesday by the grace of God.”

This dramatic twist comes after Justice Binta Nyako ruled on Friday that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension was “excessive, unconstitutional, and a violation of her constituents’ rights.”

The judge ordered her immediate reinstatement and condemned the Senate’s disciplinary action as lacking any legal foundation.

While the court affirmed her right to return to the Red Chamber, it also fined the senator ₦5 million for contempt of court, citing an April 27 Facebook post that mocked Senate President Godswill Akpabio, despite an existing injunction prohibiting public commentary on the case.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team argued that the post referenced past sexual harassment allegations she made against Akpabio, not the suspension case. However, the court dismissed that defense, ruling that the post directly violated its earlier order.

Justice Nyako ordered that the senator must issue a public apology within seven days, published in two national newspapers and reposted on her Facebook page.

In delivering the ruling, the court stressed that suspending a legislator for six months without due process deprives constituents of representation, violating constitutional mandates. The Senate was advised to review its internal disciplinary procedures to ensure they align with democratic standards.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March after a controversial Senate row over seating arrangements, a dispute that quickly escalated into national headlines following her televised sexual misconduct allegations against Senate President Akpabio.

With her court victory, Akpoti-Uduaghan is now set to walk back into the Red Chamber on Tuesday, setting the stage for what promises to be a politically charged return.
