NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Alhaji Sidi-Ali Ali, a prominent political figure and dedicated public servant is dead.

 

He passed away on Thursday evening in Kano at the age of 86.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Alhaji Sidi-Ali, the father of the Acting Director Corporate Communications of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mrs. Hakama Sidi-Ali, was considered a political giant and a champion of public service.

Throughout his illustrious career, Alhaji Sidi-Ali played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s information management and politics landscape.

He made significant contributions to the nation’s development and held key positions in various institutions, including the Nigerian International Press Centre, Ministry of Information, and National Broadcasting Commission.

 

The late Elder Statesman’s dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to democratic values earned him immense respect among his colleagues and the nation at large.

Senator Shehu Sani on his X handle lauded Alhaji Sidi-Ali’s vast knowledge of Nigeria’s history, stating, “Apart from Tafawa Balewa and Sardauna of Sokoto, no other Northerner was closely known by historic figures and World leaders in the 60s and 70s, like the Late SIDI.”

 

Alhaji Sidi-Ali’s impact extended beyond Nigeria’s borders, as he was personally acquainted with renowned figures such as President JF Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, and Kwame Nkrumah. Sani described him as a “human library and a prolific writer” who could recall every event that happened in Nigeria’s history from independence till date.

The late parliamentarian, Alhaji Sidi-Ali was a respected politician and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

 

He served on the party’s Elders Committee in Kano State, sharing his wealth of experience and wisdom with colleagues.

 

His passing leaves a void in both political and media circles, with his absence keenly felt not only in Kano but across the entire nation.

 

Alhaji Sidi-Ali’s life serves as an inspiration for generations to come.
