“I write with a deep sense of honour and profound gratitude to formally tender my resignation as the Minister of Power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

He added that the delayed effective date was to ensure an orderly handover of responsibilities within the ministry.

The development follows earlier reports that Adelabu had secured the approval of President Tinubu to step down and contest in the forthcoming Oyo State governorship race.
