EFCC has arrested Benue Governor’s Aide Mkor Aondona over alleged sextortion and cyberbullying.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over serious allegations of sextortion and cyberbullying.

This Nigeria news platform gathered that Aondona was taken into custody on Friday, June 20, following a formal petition submitted by several female university students, who accused him of using his political office to exploit and sexually blackmail them.

According to the petitioners, Aondona allegedly lured young women, particularly those who were “slim and attractive” with offers of ushering jobs, which many believed to be legitimate employment opportunities. However, they later discovered that he demanded sexual favours in exchange for selection.

The complaint further alleges that Aondona secretly recorded the sexual encounters without the women’s knowledge or consent, and subsequently used the videos to threaten and blackmail them into ongoing compliance.

“He would say, ‘If you refuse, I’ll leak the videos,’” one of the victims reportedly told EFCC investigators.

Some of the explicit content, according to the petitioners, has already been circulated on social media and messaging platforms, raising serious concerns over the victims’ privacy, safety, and reputations.

EFCC officials confirmed that Aondona remains in their custody as investigations continue. The commission said he will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of its inquiries.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the case has sparked outrage, particularly among advocacy groups calling for justice for the victims and more stringent accountability for public officials.
