Wike’s Ally, Chidi Amadi Resigns As Governor Fubara’s Chief of Staff

Amadi’s resignation brings to 10 the number of principal members of the Fubara cabinet who have parted ways with him as a result of the rift between the governor and his former political godfather, Wike.

Wike’s Ally, Chidi Amadi has resigned as Governor Fubara’s Chief of Staff.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Chidi Amadi, Chief of Staff to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has resigned.

 

This Nigeria news platform understands that Rivers Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, confirmed the resignation to newsmen on Wednesday, saying the governor would announce a replacement at the appropriate time.

He said, “The former Chief of Staff, Hon Chidi Amadi, has resigned. The governor will announce another Chief of Staff at the appropriate time.

 

“It is the prerogative of the governor to appoint when he wants it. He will tell us and we will announce it and you will also get the release to that effect.”

 

Before he was appointed as the Chief of Staff, Amadi, who is from the same Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state with Wike, was the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the LGA, and a known ally of the Federal Capital Terrritory, FCT, minister.

 

Amadi’s resignation brings to 10 the number of principal members of the Fubara cabinet who have parted ways with him as a result of the rift between the governor and his former political godfather, Wike.
