The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Enugu state governorship election, Frank Nweke Jnr, has said that Fulani herdsmen will not be allowed to settle in any party of the state if elected in 2023 election.
Newsonline reports that Nweke said until a guarantee is secured that Fulani herdsmen will not become security threat to the citizens and residents of Enugu, especially farmers and rural dwellers they eill not be welcomed.

Frank Nweke who stated this in a one-on-one interactive session on how he intends to tackle the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the state said banditry and terrorism will not be tolerated in his administration if elected.
“I will not allow the settlement of Fulani herdsmen anywhere in our State until it is clear that they, under the guise of herding, no longer pose a threat to lives, farmlands and properties. Banditry and terrorism will not be tolerated in anyway,” he said.

The former Minister of Information under president Olusegun Obasanjo said until Enugu residents have good water to drink, food to eat and good jobs, he will work to all Enugu residents.
Nweke said, “The gate and the fence around my house are not the real security. The real security is that my neighbour has water to drink, food to eat, jobs and everything else needed to live a life of dignity.”
The APGA governorship candidate also blamed the PDP administration for water crisis that has been affecting the state for years, saying incompetence of the PDP adiministrations was responsible.
He added, “Water crisis is caused by incompetence/ineptitude/corruption/pure stealing by those in power. Blind stealing of billions of funds -grants/loans obtained through multilateral agencies over the past years. We will unbundle the water sector.”
He promised that “a School Meal Program will be a cardinal aspect of my human capital development agenda. As we improve our curriculum to match the needs of the 21st century, we must also ensure that our kids develop at the right physical and mental rate to enjoy a good quality of life.
On local government autonomy, Frank Nweke Jnr said, “under my leadership, the autonomy of local governments will be total and respected in every way. This tier of government is the closest to the people and provides the immediate succour needed for social and economic development. They will be treated with the utmost respect.”
