NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will open on June 29, giving qualified Nigerians the opportunity to study for a fully funded Master’s degree at leading universities in Ireland.
The announcement was made in a post on the embassy’s official X account on Friday, inviting eligible early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana to apply for the prestigious one-year postgraduate scholarship.
“Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship,” the embassy stated.

According to the embassy, interested applicants can access detailed information about the programme, eligibility requirements and application process through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
The scholarship is open to resident nationals of Nigeria and Ghana who possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience.
For Nigerian applicants, the programme also features the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master’s degree studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive scholarship package covering full tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, accommodation support, return flight tickets, visa expenses and health insurance.
Applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will open on June 29, 2026, and close on July 26, 2026.
Eligible candidates are expected to complete and submit their applications through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website before the deadline.
