Video showing the moment Women Affairs Ministry Staff locked out Minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim in Abuja has emerged.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that workers of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs on Wednesday, September 10, shut out Minister Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim from her office in Abuja, accusing her of neglect and poor welfare management.

The aggrieved staff, who stormed the Ministry’s headquarters in the Central Area, blocked the gates, chanted protest songs, and demanded the Minister’s removal.

According to the workers, several attempts to engage Sulaiman-Ibrahim since her redeployment to the Ministry in October 2024 had been ignored. They said a long-awaited meeting scheduled for Wednesday ended in frustration after the Minister arrived late, bypassed the gathering, and went straight into her office.

Union leaders alleged that the Ministry lacked basic work tools and welfare provisions, claiming staff often used their personal funds to buy stationery and clean offices due to the absence of cleaners.

They further accused the Minister and her aides of mismanaging staff welfare funds, while ignoring repeated appeals for accountability even from the Permanent Secretary.

As of press time, the Ministry’s gates remained locked, while the Minister had yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
