Top Nigerian Newspaper Headlines Today, Tuesday 13 December 2022 can be accessed below.

Good morning! Here is the summary of the top Nigerian Newspaper Headlines today.

1. A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Dr Babachir Lawal, has clarified that he would never support the Presidential ambition of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The former SGF warned that Atiku having his way would represent ethnic domination by one ethnic group over others.

2. As the 2023 elections draw near, suspected hoodlums yesterday unleashed a spate of violent attacks on the Independent National Electoral Commission building in Owerri, Imo State, and the Peoples Democratic Party campaign office in Gombe State, razing the two facilities.

3. Point of Sale terminal operators and Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, have said they will sue the Central Bank of Nigeria if it fails to withdraw the new cash withdrawal policy limiting over-the-counter cash withdrawals by individuals and companies to N100,000 and N500,000, respectively, per week.

4. The Federal Government has described a report published by Reuters, an international news organisation, accusing the Nigerian Army of infanticide as fake news. This is just as the news agency published a fresh report on Monday in which it accused the Nigerian Army of carrying out a massacre of children during the ongoing war against terrorism.

5. A 13-year-old girl who gave birth to a baby after being allegedly impregnated by her guardian, Mr Sunday Muoghalu, has been rescued by the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare. The spokesperson for the ministry, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, on Monday, said Muoghalu was arrested on Sunday and handed over to the police.

6. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammad Abubakar, yesterday said the incessant conflicts between farmers and herders was threatening food and national security in Nigeria. He spoke in Abuja during a summit yesterday.

7. The Kogi State Chairman of the Labour Party, Suleiman Abdul Ahmed, yesterday said it was painful that the state government at the eleventh hour Monday denied the party the venue for its mega rally scheduled to hold Tuesday with its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. The party planned to use the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja as venue for the rally.

8. Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, have appealed to governors not to kill the ongoing constitution amendment exercise. The exercise is being carried out by the National Assembly and the 36 States Houses of Assembly.

9. The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has said that security would be adequately provided to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the planned distribution of the permanent voter’s cards, PVC, in the state. The governor linked the attack on INEC office to politicians in the state, who swore to make Imo State ungovernable and to stop the election.

10. Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has said he would never retire to the National Assembly because he does not have the patience and diligence needed to implement legislative functions.
