Adeyemi has revealed how controversial PFIPC agency sought entry into federal budget.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the self-acclaimed Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, has revealed details of how the disputed agency sought inclusion in the Federal Government’s budget, insisting he was not involved when the eventual allocation appeared in the appropriation document.

Adeniyi made the disclosure in a recorded interview with social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, shortly before his arrest over allegations of forgery, impersonation and conspiracy.

In the video, which surfaced after his arrest, Adeniyi claimed he visited the Budget Office of the Federation in December 2024 to request the inclusion of the PFIPC in the 2025 federal budget, but was informed that the submission window had already closed.

“I went to the Budget Office for the 2025 budget. I submitted my letter and everything I wanted, but they told me it was already late. When the 2025 budget came out and I didn’t see it, they said it would now be for the 2026 budget,” he said.

According to Adeniyi, a female official at the Budget Office facilitated a meeting with senior officials, where he alleged that he was asked to provide a gratification before his proposal could be considered.

“She helped me to see the oga. Oga now said, ‘Where is my shini?’ I said I don’t have any shini. He later asked me to meet one director,” he alleged.

He further claimed that the director explained that the PFIPC could not be accommodated in the 2025 budget because the process had already been concluded but indicated that the proposal could be considered during the next budget cycle.

Adeniyi maintained that his subsequent legal troubles and arrest brought all efforts relating to the proposed agency to an end, insisting he had no knowledge of how the PFIPC eventually appeared in the federal budget with an allocation.

The PFIPC controversy has attracted nationwide attention after it emerged that about ₦1.32 billion was allocated to the agency in the federal budget, despite the Federal Government’s insistence that the body was never legally established.

Adeniyi is currently facing allegations bordering on forgery, impersonation and conspiracy, while investigations into the controversial budget allocation continue.
