Court has granted Miyetti Allah President Bello Bodejo N2bn bail in $2.63 million money laundering case.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of N2 billion over allegations of money laundering involving $2.63 million.

Justice Inyang Ekwo delivered the ruling on Monday after hearing Bodejo’s bail application, holding that the offences brought against the defendant are bailable and that the court has the discretion to admit him to bail.

As part of the bail conditions, the court ordered Bodejo to produce two sureties in the like sum of N2 billion.

Justice Ekwo ruled that one of the sureties must be a resident of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and provide evidence of three years’ tax clearance, while the second surety must own landed property valued at N2 billion within the FCT.

The court also directed the Miyetti Allah leader to surrender his international passport to the court registrar and prohibited him from travelling outside Nigeria without prior approval from the court.

“The offence with which the defendant was charged was bailable and the court has the discretionary power to exercise this in his favour,” Justice Ekwo held.

Following the ruling, the judge adjourned the matter to October 5, 6 and 7, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

Bodejo is facing prosecution over alleged money laundering involving $2.63 million, with the case set to proceed on the scheduled trial dates.
