Orji Uzor Kalu has urged President Tinubu to sack underperforming Ministers and Security Chiefs.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack some members of his cabinet, particularly underperforming ministers and security chiefs, in order to improve governance and address ongoing challenges in Nigeria.

Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State and current Senator, made this appeal during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday. He expressed concern that many Nigerians, especially those in lower-income communities, are yet to feel the positive impact of Tinubu’s economic and policy reforms.

“Nigerians in the lower class are still suffering. The benefits of President Tinubu’s policies have not reached them yet. It may take another one to two years before real change is felt,” Kalu said.

He attributed the slow progress to persistent insecurity and insurgency across the country, which, according to him, continues to prevent farmers from accessing their land and contributing to the economy.

“The ongoing security issues are stopping people from going to the farm. That’s a major reason for the delay in progress,” he added.

Kalu stressed the need for decisive leadership, urging Tinubu to remove officials who are not delivering results.

“Some people working with the President need to be relieved of their duties; both ministers and security chiefs. The President must be bold enough to make changes,” he stated.

“If I were to advise, most of these ministers should go. Some of the security chiefs too. There should be no sentiment when it comes to redeeming Nigeria. If we want true progress, tough decisions must be made.”
