PDP has replied Yahaya Bello over the claim of PDP Governors planning to join APC.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Prince Diran Odeyemi Friday said that “no sensible Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor will defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).”
Prince Odeyemi stated this while speaking with newsmen on a statement credited to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state that more PDP governors and others are still coming to APC.
He stressed that though the ruling APC is hell bent at winning some PDP governors to its side for the party to be able to rig the 2023 general elections among others, with the present situation in the country, no governor from PDP will be contemplating such as claimed by Gov Bello.
The PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary maintained that the statement credited to the Kogi state governor clearly showed that the party have no other thing to campaign with to win elections any longer than making desperate efforts at winning PDP governors to their party.
“Why don’t they start campaigning with what they have been doing as the ruling party, if they actually performed. Is it only by winning PDP governors to themselves that can save the party come 2023? They themselves knows that APC is a complete failure” he said
Prince Odeyemi added, ” no sensible PDP governor will defect to APC in Nigeria now, none of our governors will join them. They only want to pounce on PDP governors so as to have about 23 – 25: governors to back up their plans to rig the 2023 polls.
“If they are that good, they should not wait and start begging PDP governors to join them before they can win the 2023 general elections. It is not a strategy that can work for them.”
The PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary maintained that as far as the Peoples Democratic Party is concerned, no governor from the party will join APC as claimed by the Kogi state governor, saying, ” I am very sure that none of our governors will join them in APC.”
