1. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday, approved 140 and above as the national minimum cut-off mark for admission into public universities in 2022. The board approved 100 for Colleges of Education, 120 for Polytechnics and 140 for Universities.

2. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said there is no sit-at-home order today (Friday). IPOB said the reported order issued by Nnamdi Kanu’s alleged disciple, Simon Ekpa should be ignored.

3. Ahmed Idris, suspended Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), received N15 billion bribe to fast track 13% derivation funds to oil-producing States, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The 13% derivation fund is a benefit-sharing system that helps communities get funds meant for development.

4. Five mobile policemen and three civilians have been shot dead at Gatikawa community, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State. The mobile policemen were said to be on special duty from Kano.

5. President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, his administration announced. The White House said the 79-year-old leader was experiencing “mild symptoms” and would carry out his full duties while isolating.

6. Scores of Dana Air passengers on Thursday besieged the Airline’s counters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport private terminal two, otherwise known as MM2, to demand refunds of fare following their inability to travel after ticket purchases.

7. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on Friday, arraign a former Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, before Justice A.O. Adeyemi Ajayi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, over N109 billion fraud.

8. 15-year-old teenager, who was allegedly abducted, drugged and raped by four men in the Igando area of Lagos State, has been found. She was found five days after she went missing and a search party was raised by her family.

9. The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old prison escapee, Abubakar Mohammed, while relocating to his native home in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. The State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande said Mohammed, who was among inmates who escaped from the Kuje Custodial Centre, was arrested along the boundary between Adamawa and Borno States.

10. The federal government has projected to spend N6.72 trillion on subsidy for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise called petrol for the 2023 fiscal year. The projected expenditure is N2.53trn higher than the current petrol subsidy figure, expected to roll till May next year.
