1. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday night released the list of portfolios for his ministerial appointees. The president will swear in his new ministers on Monday.

2. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited says it had secured a $3 billion crude repayment loan to halt the further slump of Naira against the Dollar at the foreign exchange market. The company disclosed this on Wednesday through its official X, former Twitter handle.

3. The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Godwin Emefiele will be arraigned by the Federal Government before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, over a fresh 20-count charge, bothering on procurement fraud allegations. Emefiele will be arraigned over N6.9 billion procurement fraud, conspiracy and conferring corrupt advantages on his associates alongside a female CBN employee, Sa’adatu Yaro and her company, April 1616 Investment Limited .

4. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has insisted that fatalities, mishaps, and crashes are sometimes inevitable for all military organisations involved in counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations. Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

5. The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has unveiled a scheme to boost youths’ inclusiveness in the export industry. Ezra Yakusak, the Executive Director of NEPC, Ezra Yakusak, disclosed this on Wednesday at the inauguration of the Youth For Export Programme (YEP) in Abuja.

6. The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje on Wednesday said he and former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike never discussed defection to the ruling party. Ganduje said Wike only paid him a congratulatory visit over his emergence as APC National Chairman.

7. The military chiefs of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will meet on Thursday and Friday in Accra, Ghana, amid tensions over a possible military intervention in the Republic of Niger, according to Ghana’s army spokesman. ECOWAS member states had initially mulled a military intervention against those who carried out a coup in NIger.

8. The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has said that he is ready to enforce the State’s extant law on kidnapping, which prescribes death by hanging. He spoke when he swore in and assigned ministries to 30 new commissioners on Wednesday in his office in Calabar.

9. Manchester City on Wednesday night won this year’s UEFA Super Cup after beating Sevilla 5-4 via penalty shoot-out at the Karaiskakis Stadium. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes, thanks to goals from Youssef En-Nesyri and Cole Palmer.

10. The Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has reserved judgement in the petition by Barr Chijioke Edeoga, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, challenging the election of Governor Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
