Lagos Seriki Hausawa Council Convenes in Epe, Champions Unity, Peace, And Selfless Leadership

Lagos Seriki Hausawa Council has convened in Epe, Champions Unity, Peace, and selfless leadership.

 

In a renewed call for unity, peaceful coexistence, and responsible leadership, the Lagos State Body of Seriki Hausawa convened its monthly meeting on Friday, May 2, 2025, in the historic town of Epe, with key royal figures from across the state’s five divisions Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe (IBILE) in attendance.

The gathering was hosted by the Sarkin Hausawa of Epe Division, His Royal Highness Alhaji Haruna Sule, at his palace on St. Michael Street, Epe. The meeting forms part of the body’s ongoing efforts to foster solidarity within the Arewa community in Lagos and reinforce its commitment to peaceful and selfless leadership.

Lagos Seriki Hausawa Council

Addressing the gathering, various Serikis emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and service-oriented leadership as cornerstones for societal advancement. They echoed a collective resolve to maintain harmony and promote cultural values within their respective jurisdictions.

Dignitaries present included HRH Alhaji Hassan Auyo, Seriki of Idi Araba; Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, Sarki Overall of Alimosho and Chairman of the Arewa Chieftaincy Council in Alimosho; HRH Alhaji Bello Shehu, Seriki of Mojoda; HRH Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu of Foka-Sabo in Eredo LCDA; HRH Alhaji Musa Abubakar of Ibeju-Lekki; HRH Alhaji Hassan Dogo of Tedi-Onireke in Ojo; and HRH Alhaji Mu’azu Ibrahim of Lekki LCDA.

Others included HRH Alhaji Sama’ila Garba of Iyana-Ipaja; HRH Alhaji Almustapha Danmallam of Isheri-Olofin; HRH Alhaji Sadiq Abubakar of Alagbado-Oke-Abiye; HRH Alhaji Sulaiman Abdullahi of Akesan; and HRH Alhaji Sa’idu Sule of Ikola—all from Alimosho Local Government Area.

During the meeting, HRH Alhaji Haruna Sule also used the occasion to turban newly appointed titled chiefs, including the Garkuwa and Waziri of Epe, reinforcing traditional leadership structures within the local Arewa community.

In his remarks, Sarki Sule extended heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Surah Animashaun, for her unwavering support and for providing the community with a ceremonial hall at the council secretariat. He pledged the community’s continued loyalty and support to her administration.

The Seriki Hausawa body, known for its rotational monthly gatherings, held its previous meeting in Amuwo-Odofin at the palace of HRH Alhaji Sulaiman Mai Kaji of Kuje. The next assembly is scheduled to take place in the Ikorodu Division.
