Kate Henshaw has praised Justice Oshodi for the life sentence on Doctor Olufemi Olaleye.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that in a resounding victory for justice and the fight against sexual offenses, Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has commended the unyielding commitment of Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Justice Oshodi recently presided over a significant case involving child defilement, where Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, the medical director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, was found guilty of sexually assaulting and defiling his wife’s 16-year-old niece.

Justice Rahman Oshodi sentenced Dr. Olufemi Olaleye to double life imprisonment for his heinous actions. Henshaw lauded the judge for his determination to ensure justice was served, emphasizing that there was no room for leniency, given the complete absence of remorse displayed by the offender.

Henshaw stated, “I want to give kudos to the incorruptible Justice Rahman Oshodi for a detailed judgment. He listened attentively throughout the proceedings and left no one in doubt that this judgment is his.”

She added, “He saw that there was no remorse in Femi Olaleye and that he would repeat the same offenses if let go. I watched Femi’s body language all the time I came to this court, and he showed no remorse as he was always shoulder-up.”

Kate Henshaw also extended her commendations to the Lagos State Domestic And Sexual Violence Agency for their unwavering commitment to raising awareness and combating sexual offenses.

The case against Dr. Olufemi Olaleye involved the defilement of his wife’s niece when she was just 15/16 years old. The victim endured this horrific ordeal for approximately 19 months until her aunt discovered the truth and reported it to the police.

The brave survivor is now 18 years old, having faced unimaginable trauma at the hands of someone she should have been able to trust.

Dr. Olaleye had pled not guilty to the two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration, leading to a trial that unfolded with shocking revelations.

The prosecution, led by Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Dr. Babajide Martins, built a compelling case against the accused.

Six witnesses, including the victim, the defendant’s wife, a medical doctor, a child care expert, and two police officers involved in the investigations, testified in the trial. Their testimonies, combined with the defendant’s confession, provided irrefutable evidence of his guilt.

After evaluating all the evidence presented, Justice Oshodi was unequivocal in his judgment. He found Dr. Olufemi Olaleye guilty, pointing to his confession as a key piece of evidence.

The judge also emphasized the severity of the offenses, highlighting that the accused had shown no remorse throughout the proceedings. Oshodi described Dr. Olaleye as a “dangerous offender” who needed to be held accountable for his actions.

In the judge’s words, “You acknowledged that you are a s*x addict in your confession but came to this court and told lies. You showed no remorse, and it shows that you are a dangerous man.

The survivor, to your knowledge, is a child but you forced her to watch pornography, rub her br*asts and put your p*nis in her mouth. You penetrated her repeatedly.”

When it came time for sentencing, Dr. Olaleye’s defense counsel appealed for leniency, noting that he was a first-time offender and a medical doctor who provided vital services to cancer patients, particularly women.

However, the judge adhered to the laws of Lagos State, sentencing him to life imprisonment on both counts one and two of his offense. Additionally, Dr. Olaleye’s name would be inscribed in the Sexual Offences Register of the Lagos State Government, marking him as a convicted sexual offender.

During the trial, the convict’s wife, Aderemi Olaleye, displayed immense courage by testifying against her husband. She revealed the shocking truth that her husband had been sexually abusing her niece during her stay in their home. She learned about the alleged crimes when the survivor confessed to her and the family’s driver, detailing the doctor’s ongoing abuse.

Mrs. Olaleye testified, “My lord, on November 27, 2021, my second cousin told my aunty who is my mother’s sister that since March 2020, Femi has been sexually abusing her and introduced her to pornography, from there he graduated to oral sex with her, that he does this in different places in the house where there are no cameras.”
