IGP Tunji Disu Orders Major Police Reshuffle, Deploys Senior Officers to Strategic Commands Nationwide

IGP Tunji Disu has ordered a major police reshuffle and deployed senior officers to strategic commands nationwide.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a major reshuffle involving the deployment of senior officers to key positions across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and improving service delivery nationwide.

 

The development was disclosed on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, who said the postings were designed to enhance leadership capacity and reinforce the command structure within the force.

According to the statement, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) were reassigned to strategic departments and zonal commands. Among them, AIG Ado Emmanuel was posted to the Department of Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo was deployed to the Department of Armament.

 

AIG Miller Dantawaye was assigned to the Department of Operations, AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to the Department of Training and Development, and AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget. Meanwhile, AIG Dahiru Mohammed was posted to Zone 15 in Maiduguri.

 

Other deployments include AIG Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4 in Makurdi, AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 in Katsina, and AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to the Department of Legal Services. AIG Ahmed Musa was assigned to Community Policing, while AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh was posted to Zone 2, Lagos. AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom will serve at the FCID Annex in Lagos, and AIG Haruna Olufemi has been deployed to the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

 

The Inspector-General also redeployed several Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and formations. CP Haruna Yahaya was posted to the Jigawa State Command, CP Betty Otimenyin to Welfare at Force Headquarters, and CP Olugbenga Abimbola to the Oyo State Command.

 

Similarly, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi was assigned to the Delta State Command, CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State, CP Michael Falade to Ekiti State, and CP Yakubu Dankaro to Adamawa State Command.

 

Further postings include CP Muhammed Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory Command, CP Olatunji Fatai to Lagos State Command, CP Morkwap Dongshal to Taraba State Command, CP Ahmed Bello to Zamfara State Command, CP Umar Fagge to Katsina State Command, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.

 

Additional redeployments saw CP Akan Ezima appointed Director of the NPF-NCCC in Abuja, CP Abbas Sule posted to the Special Protection Unit, and CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue deployed to INTERPOL in Abuja.

 

In the statement, the police chief urged the affected officers to bring their experience and professionalism to bear in their new assignments while upholding discipline and the highest standards of service.

 

The police leadership noted that the reshuffle forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal operations, enhance security management, and improve policing outcomes across the country.
