NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), taken by more than 1.9 million students from over 23,000 secondary schools across Nigeria.

Announcing the release on Monday, WAEC’s Head of National Office (HNO), Amos Dangut, confirmed that all procedures leading up to the release had been successfully completed, despite operational challenges during the examination period.

“Today, I am happy to announce to you that all the processes leading to the release of the results have been concluded,” Dangut stated.

He noted that while the examination faced a few disruptions, WAEC was able to resolve them, ensuring a credible and smooth evaluation process.

However, Dangut expressed concern over a 33.8% drop in student performance compared to previous years, describing the decline as significant.
