Gov Makinde Gifts Pensioners N10k For Christmas Celebration

Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has approved the payment of N10,000 for pensioners in the state as Christmas bonus.

Newsonline reports that the N10,000 gift to pensioners comes after all civil servants and pensioners received their December salaries and pension between 21 and 22 December.

In a statement on Friday, by Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, Makinde wants the pensioners who have served the state meritoriously to have a good yuletide celebration.

He also promised the civil servants that the thirteen months’ salary will be paid by the state government before the 31 of December.

The statement added that Governor Makinde will institutionalize the thirteen months payment by making it a law in the state.

“His Excellency has approved the payment of N10,000 to all pensioners in the state as Christmas Turkey bonus. It is a flat rate for all pensioners.

“The bonus is coming days after the state government paid the December 2022 salaries to workers and pensioners. The governor had equally approved the payment of 13th month’s salary, which is expected to be paid on or before December 31, 2022.

“His Excellency wishes that all retirees will enjoy a Merry Christmas.

“The bonus is a token of His Excellency’s appreciation and assistance to our aged and retired citizens, who had served the state meritoriously for decades,” the statement read.
