FirstBank has announced SMEConnect Webinar to strengthen Small Business Capacity Building.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that FirstBank, one of West Africa’s leading financial institutions and a champion of financial inclusion, has announced the latest edition of its SMEConnect Webinar, scheduled for Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

The SMEConnect Webinar is a key component of FirstBank’s commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through this platform, the Bank equips entrepreneurs with practical insights, essential business tools, and strategic guidance to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive environment.

This month’s edition, themed “Strategies for SMEs: Securing Your Business Under the New Tax Law,” will provide clarity on Nigeria’s evolving tax landscape. Participants will learn how to comply with the upcoming tax regulations and position their businesses for sustainable growth. The session will feature contributions from seasoned experts, including:

  • Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms (Keynote Speaker)

  • Yemi Adesanya, Financial Controller, FirstBank (Guest Speaker)

  • Dr. Abiodun Famuyiwa, Head, SME Banking, FirstBank (Host)

Together, they will share strategic insights on navigating regulatory changes, leveraging digital tools, overcoming operational challenges, and tapping into financial solutions designed to accelerate SME success.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chuma Ezirim, Group Executive, e-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank, said:
“The SMEConnect Webinar ensures businesses are not only prepared to adapt, but also positioned to scale sustainably. With the implementation of the new tax policy drawing near, this session will provide critical information to help SMEs understand and navigate the new requirements.”
