FG Introduces New Payment Structure For LG Officials

FG has introduced a new payment structure for LG Officials.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Government has set up a new system for paying local government officials directly from Abuja under the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).

 

This approach affects key officials in local government administration, with a total of eight to nine individuals receiving their salaries through the central payment system.

Under this new arrangement, each local government will have a Chairman and a Deputy Chairman, along with other key officials overseeing different sectors. The positions include:

 

1. Chairman

2. Deputy Chairman

3. Secretary

4. Supervisory Councillor for Health

5. Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture

6. Supervisory Councillor for Education/Social Services

7. Supervisory Councillor for Works

8. Statutory Adviser for People with Disability, Humanitarian Service & Traditional Institutions

9. Statutory Adviser for Security

10. Statutory Adviser for Youth Development & Community Work

Officials say this new system is meant to ensure that salaries are paid consistently and transparently.

By handling payments from Abuja, the government aims to maintain financial order in local administrations and reduce irregularities in salary distribution.
