Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has appeared to brush off his charge from the FA for “improper behaviour”, insisting he was “calm” and should keep his place in the dugout for Spurs’ game against Wolves.

Newsonline report that Conte and Tuchel sparked a mass brawl during and after Chelsea and Tottenham’s fiesty clash at the weekend.
The pair came together on two separate occasions and were eventually given a red card each by referee Anthony Taylor for their actions after the final whistle. Both managers have since been charged by the FA for failing to control their emotions.

The statement read: “Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have both been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3, following the Premier League fixture between Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday 14 August 2022. It is alleged that the behaviour of both managers was improper following the end of the fixture.

“Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have until Thursday 18 August 2022 to provide their respective responses.”

It’s not yet been confirmed whether both managers will face match suspensions after they were shown a red card last weekend. But Conte clearly feels as though he did nothing wrong to warrant match suspensions.
When asked whether he will be on the touchline this weekend, Conte said: “I hope so.

“It’s right, it’s right to stay in my place. Then I repeat for sure after this type of situation you can learn a lot but at the same time I think from many situation I was good to keep calm and don’t have an excessive reaction.”
