Trump has reportedly captured Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been captured by U.S. authorities.

Trump made the announcement on Saturday in a post on his Truth Social account, alleging that the operation involved a large-scale U.S. strike against Venezuela.

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the country,” Trump wrote.

He added that the operation was conducted in collaboration with U.S. law enforcement agencies and said further details would be provided at a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m. at Mar-a-Lago.

“This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a News Conference today at 11 A.M., at Mar-a-Lago,” he stated.

The claim comes months after the U.S. government increased the reward for information leading to Maduro’s arrest to $50 million, citing alleged involvement in international drug trafficking.

Maduro and several top Venezuelan officials were first indicted by the United States in 2020 during Trump’s first term in office.
