Governor Mbah explained that his defection was driven by the need to align the state with the ruling party at the federal level, which, according to him, would enhance access to national projects and federal partnerships.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership style and economic policies, noting that Enugu State has benefited significantly from the President’s support since he assumed office.

The defection marks a major political shift in the South-East, as Mbah becomes one of the first sitting governors in the region to join the APC.
