BREAKING: EFCC Declares Former Minister Timipre Sylva Wanted Over $14.8 Million Fraud

Sylva is wanted in connection with an alleged case of conspiracy and dishonest conversion of $14,859,257, reportedly part of funds provided by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the construction of a refinery.

EFCC has declared Former Minister Timipre Sylva wanted over alleged $14.8 million fraud.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva wanted.

According to a notice issued by the Commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, Sylva is wanted in connection with an alleged case of conspiracy and dishonest conversion of $14,859,257, reportedly part of funds provided by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for the construction of a refinery.

The EFCC said the warrant for Sylva’s arrest was issued by the Lagos State High Court on November 6, 2025.

Former Minister Timipre Sylva Wanted

“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should contact the Commission through any of its zonal offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja or via 08093322644 and info@efcc.gov.ng or report to the nearest Police Station or security agency,” the notice read.

Sylva, 61, hails from Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
