Benue State Assembly Speaker, Aondona Dajoh has resigned.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajoh, has resigned from his position.

In a handwritten resignation letter dated August 24, 2025, and addressed to the Clerk of the Assembly in Makurdi, Dajoh confirmed that his decision was effective immediately. The letter, which he also shared on his official Facebook page with the caption “Let there be peace”, cited the move as being taken “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”

Dajoh expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the opportunity to serve as Speaker, describing it as an honour to be “the first among equals.” He also pledged continued commitment to his legislative responsibilities and to representing the people of Gboko West State Constituency.
