Bayelsa Governor Diri has sacked his Aides for attending Pro-Tinubu and Pro-Wike Rally.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, have dismissed about 27 political aides over their involvement with The NEW Associates, a grassroots-based political movement.

This Nigeria news platform gathered that the affected aides were reportedly sacked after participating in the inauguration of the Bayelsa State chapter of the group and attending a mega rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

A termination letter dated April 23, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, confirmed the development.

The move has drawn criticism from the Bayelsa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which condemned the governor’s decision to dismiss aides for associating with The NEW Associates. The party described the action as undemocratic and counterproductive to political inclusivity.
