Sowore Vhas vowed to defy DSS amid moves to shut down his social media accounts.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that human rights activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has vowed to intensify his criticism of the Nigerian government despite what he described as renewed attempts by security agencies to silence him.

In a statement on Sunday via his X handle, Sowore alleged that the Department of State Services (DSS) wrote to X demanding that his account be deactivated within 24 hours. He linked the move to a recent protest at the Federal High Court and the Ministry of Justice by pro-government demonstrators who reportedly called for his arrest.

Describing the DSS action as “unconstitutional” and a “desecration of national dignity,” the activist accused security agencies of persistent harassment, including arrests, seizure of his passport, and trumped-up charges. He further claimed that he was recently assaulted by armed police officers and falsely accused in court of terrorism financing.

Sowore insisted that efforts to pressure social media platforms into silencing him amounted to “exporting national disgrace to the US,” stressing that such measures would not deter his activism.

“The struggle against these criminals continues ceaselessly—with or without a Twitter account, with or without Facebook, and whether I am in jail or outside of it. The struggle continues,” he declared.
