President Tinubu has written NASS to quickly pass four Tax Reform Bills.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the National Assembly, requesting for quick passage of four tax reform bills.
In a letter read at plenary by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen on Thursday, the President said the bills were designed in line with the objectives of his administration.
The bills are the Nigeria Tax Bill 2024, which is expected to provide the fiscal work for tax in the country and the tax administration bill which will provide a clear and concise legal framework for all taxes in the country and reduce disputes.

The others are the Nigeria Revenue Service establishment bill, which will repeal the Federal Inland Revenue Service Act and establish the Nigeria Revenue Service and the Joint Revenue Board establishment bill which will create a tax tribunal and a tax ombudsman.
He said the bills will strengthen fiscal institutions in the country and align with the objective of the government.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the letter was brought to NASS barely 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation.
The vacation is “part of his yearly leave,” Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, revealed in a statement he signed Wednesday.
The statement is titled ‘President Tinubu goes on annual leave.’
“He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
“He will return to the country after the leave expires,” the statement read in part.
