President Tinubu hosted NBA President-Elect Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya at Aso Rock after historic election victory.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following her historic victory in the association’s national election.
Badejo-Okusanya was accompanied by several senior advocates and members of her campaign team during the courtesy visit to the President.

Her visit comes days after she emerged as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association, making history as the first woman to be democratically elected to lead the country’s foremost legal body.
In the NBA national election held on Saturday, Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 percent of the total votes cast.
She defeated her closest rivals, Lateef Akangbe, SAN, who polled 7,934 votes, and Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, who garnered 5,855 votes.
Following the announcement of the election results, President Tinubu congratulated Badejo-Okusanya on her landmark victory, describing it as a significant milestone for the legal profession and a testament to merit, excellence, and gender inclusion.
The President noted that her emergence as the first elected female President of the NBA reflects the growing opportunities for women to assume leadership positions in Nigeria’s professional bodies.
The meeting at the Presidential Villa is seen as part of ongoing engagements between the Federal Government and key stakeholders in the nation’s legal and justice sector as the incoming NBA leadership prepares to assume office.
