Adeyemi is currently facing arrest over fraud and forgery charges.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-styled Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), following his failure to appear for arraignment on criminal charges.

Justice Mohammed Umar issued the warrant on Tuesday after an oral application by the prosecution counsel, Wisdom Madaki, who informed the court that the defendant had again failed to honour the court’s summons.

Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud, and impersonation.

Although the case was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, the defendant was absent when the matter was called. His counsel, Genesis Francis, however, announced his appearance before the court on his behalf.

Addressing the court, the prosecution argued that Adeyemi had repeatedly failed to appear to answer the charges against him, prompting the request for a bench warrant.

After listening to the application, Justice Umar granted the request and ordered the immediate arrest of the defendant to compel his appearance before the court.

Recall that Adeyemi was scheduled to take his plea on the criminal charges but did not appear in court.

His latest absence comes days after he also failed to attend a previous court sitting for his arraignment over allegations of certificate forgery.

The case is linked to the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an entity the Presidency has publicly disowned, insisting that no such government agency exists.

The court is expected to fix a new date for Adeyemi’s arraignment after the arrest warrant is executed.
